Vintage illustrations clipped from magazines, Part 3

Posted in Ephemera/Paper/Documents

This is the third group of cover illustrations from the 1930s that someone clipped from magazines and stored away. Most of these are illustrations of various types of flowers.

I came across these while looking through some ephemera I bought at auction some time ago that I had put aside and forgotten. Some of the covers are signed and some are not. The illustrators included Malthe Hasselriis (painter and children’s book illustrator), Marinsky and Elizabeth Lansdell Hammell (painter who was said to have had a lovely flower garden),

What was just as interesting about these were the ads on the flip side of the pages.

Here’s a glimpse of some of the covers and ads. The other groups of illustrations used people and animals as the subjects.
