Auction Finds would like to hear from you about your own finds and your collections, and I’d like your feedback and suggestions.

Submissions: The story of your finds and collections should be no more than 500 words. The story of your collection should include what the collection is, how large it is, how you got started collecting, how long you’ve collected and why you chose this particular item. You may include other interesting information about your collection. The story of your finds should include what the find is, where you found it and how you came across it and any other thrilling details.
We’ll take a look at your story and photo and consider them for posting. Those chosen may be edited for clarity. Your name and hometown will accompany your submission (but not your email address. It will be used for confirmation only).
Photos should be .jpg or .gif, with a max file size of 4 MB or at least 300 dpi (resolution).
I started going to auctions to fuel my love for African American art – but at a bargain. I love the old masters: Lois Mailou Jones, Jacob Lawrence, Hughie Lee-Smith. I wanted to find their works and discover other veteran artists whose works may have been hiding in an attic or basement, and forgotten.
