Sometimes when I’m walking through an auction house, especially among the furniture, I notice the details that make certain pieces stand out. The unusual feet and arms of a chair, the supports on a table, the miniature figures on a lamp, a story told in the fabric of a sofa.
I was meandering through an auction house previewing its Modern & Design offerings recently and came upon several pieces of furniture and accessories whose up-close look revealed some very decorative elements. I wondered if I could guess what these pieces were just by looking at those details.
