Accent pieces for your tables & walls

Posted in Auction, Carvings, Clocks, Decorating, and furniture

If I ever decide to change the tabletop accent pieces in my home, I won’t go to the nearest furniture store. I’d go to auctions, and take my time to find the right pieces. That’s the advice I’d give anyone who’s in the market for lovely furniture and accent pieces for their home.

It’s the same advice I gave a man who with his wife and family had just moved to Philadelphia from New York. I suggested several auction houses I visit regularly, some of which have beautiful furniture and accessories for sale – including lamps, which the man’s wife was looking for and I had written about.

In a previous blog post, I wrote about some furniture accent pieces I photographed during my most recent auction visits. Today, I’m presenting some tabletop and wall pieces that I found both attractive and interesting.

Brass and porcelain clock and candelabras
Brass and porcelain clock with matching candelabras. A little too much for my taste, but I’m sure it has its admirers.
