Hi Carole. I love your quilts. I haven't come across any photos or memorabilia of African American female veterans but I'll keep looking. I admire quiltmakers and appreciate the art ofquiltmaking. I took a quilting class a few years ago to learn how to make them. I decided that I'd better stick to writing. I did make some potholders that I gave to family as Christmas gifts. I'll keep checking out your website and your work, and pass the information along to others.

Hi,

I enjoyed reading about the history you've uncovered. I collect photos, letters and other memorabilia for African american Vetereans, and I've been able to acquire some very rare items from WWII and Korea for African American FEMALE veterans. I am an artist, and I use these materials in my work. You can see some of the work at www.CaroleLylesShaw.com, click on Gallery and click on War, Honor and Freedom. http://www.carolelylesshaw.com/gallery/16162/War%20Honor%20and%20Freedom

Thanks!
